Camera Test at the Beach

One of the nice things about being a San Diego video production is that we live and work near some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We bought a new lens and thought we’d give it try on the Sony FS700 camera, so we took them both down to La Jolla and grabbed some shots this past Sunday. We didn’t plan on putting together a little video, but when we went through the footage it all just sort of came together.

We played with the slow motion function of the FS700, shooting things at up to 960 frames per second. The shot of the bee is one such shot. The only downside to shooting at that high of a frame rate is that the 700 drops resolution from full 1920×1080. So while that shot isn’t as sharp as we’d like, it still is a pretty amazing shot.

The shots of the surf at both 480 fps and 960 fps are both are really cool.

Hope you like our little side project!

If you have a project where you could use some slow motion shots, please let us know – we’d love to help you out!
